2 port PCI Express SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Card - 1 Internal 1 External
Providing data transfer speeds up to 10x faster than USB 2.0, this PCI Express USB 3.0 card enables you to access your data and transfer files faster than ever, by adding one internal USB 3.0 port and one external USB 3.0 port to your PCI Express-equipped PC.Featuring a native NEC PCI Express host controller chipset, the new USB 3.0 standard supports transfer rates of up to 5Gbps, while still providing connectivity and support for the older USB 2.0 (480Mbps) and 1.1 (12Mbps) devices. In addition to providing considerably faster transfer rates, the PEXUSB3S11 USB 3.0 card draws power from the computer power supply through a SATA style power connector - a perfect solution for systems that have a limited number of LP4 connectors available. The card will supply 5V, 900mA to the USB 3.0 port, allowing more and more external devices to operate without the need of an additional power source. The inclusion of an internal USB 3.0 connection provides the added benefit of compatibility to future USB 3.0-based internal storage solutions.
Compatible slots are those slots which are capable of efficient integration and operation with other elements in a system with no modification or conversion required
The speed at which bits of data (0s and 1s) can be transferred is referred to as the Data Transfer Rate It is usually measured in bits or bytes per-sec or higher units like kilo/mega/giga/tera bits/bytes per-sec
