The standalone Dell Multi-Protocol Card is designed to add compatibility with network printing protocols such as UDP/IP (IPP, SMB, NetWare® - versions later than NetWare 5 - HTTPS, WINS, SMTP, DDNS, mDNS); NetBEUI (SMB); NetWare P-server; Ethertalk; AppleTalk.

The Dell Multi-Protocol Card also offers support for wireless networking when used in conjunction with the bundled Dell Wireless Printer Adapter 3310 USB. Locate and install your printer almost anywhere within your IEEE 802.11b/g wireless network with this adapter. The Wireless Printer Adapter connects through the USB port in the Multi-Protocol card that is installed into the printer.

The Multi-Protocol Card and Wireless Printer Adapter 3310 USB ship as one kit, but the Multi-Protocol card can be used as a standalone interface.

Dell Wireless Printer Adapter 3310 USB is Wi-Fi CERTIFIED and supports WEP and WPA-Personal security protocols.
